Helpful Expert Reply:
The Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185 is a universal part that will work on most vehicles and will require you to either run additional wiring for the charge line circuit, brake line and reverse light wires. These can either be new wiring ran on your 2018 Ford F-150 or tap into the existing wiring at the trailer connection harness on your F-150.
I recommend using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # C56413 as this will plug into your factory connection. I have included an installation video linked below that will show this kit installed on a 2018 F-150. This will make your installation virtually plug and play.
For a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This proportional brake controller will automatically adjust for light and severe braking. It is also customizable and has a diagnostic feature that will help you to diagnose issues within the brake circuit. The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 22292 will allow you to plug into your factory connector.
Your F-150 will most likely require some fuses to be added underneath the hood for the entire system to function properly. This is addressed in the videos as well.
