Question:
Hi eTrailer Team, I have a 2019 Keystone Bullet travel trailer with LCI 3500# axles. The trailer rides a little low and the current 4-leaf springs look a little worn out almost has some reverse bend in them close to the axle. I would like to upgrade to a 5-leaf if possible. The current u-bolts are also pretty much at the end of the threads with the current 4-leafs so thinking I will need a bit longer u-bolts. The current leafs appear to be 25-3/4inch from eye-to-eye under load. Looking for a recommendation for the 5-leaf and new u-bolts to accommodate the new leaf height. Thanks!

It sounds like you have the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/8" Long # e54SR on your 2019 Keystone Bullet. I recommend relieving the weight off the suspension to see if the springs return to normal heights. I have included the picture below for reference for the following measurements.
A-12-9/16"
B-13-3/16"
C-25-1/8"
D-3-1/4"
The trailer may have became overloaded and caused damage to the suspension components or even the axle. If you notice an excessive bend in the axle it or they may need to be replaced as well. Most axles will have a slight bend and this is typically normal.
The 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e54SR is rated to match the 3,500lb axle. Currently the closest 5 leaf spring that we offer is the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring # e34SR. This is rated for a 6,000lb axle and will likely cause for the trailer to have a more harsh ride as the weight rating is almost double that of the axle maximum capacity.
If your springs are worn out and need replaced I recommend replacing with the 4-Leaf # e54SR as this will provide you with the correct ride quality. You can also improve the support and ride by adding the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-107-40. These progressive springs will help to cushion road shock and also will provide additional support to the leaf springs. They are maintenance free and require no drilling to install.
We do offer the Replacement U-Bolt with Nuts # 176400 that is 5-1/2" long from the internal bend to the end of the threaded bolt.
