Features to know about

Smooth Ride Over Rough Roads: 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring Handles the Shock

When bumps and potholes start shaking everything loose, this 5-leaf double-eye spring keeps things steady. Each of its flexible leaves works together to absorb road shock so the trailer rides smoother and takes stress off the frame and cargo. With a spring capacity of 3,000 lbs and axle capacity of 6,000 lbs, it’s built for real-world towing where strength and comfort both matter.

Built to Last: Sturdy Steel with Long-Wearing Nylon Bushings

Road miles and heavy use wear down weak suspension parts fast. This spring’s sturdy steel construction resists fatigue, while the included nylon bushings give a 9/16" eye diameter for smooth pivoting. The setup cuts friction at the mounting points so the suspension moves freely without squeaks or binding.

Keeps Axle Alignment True: 25-3/8" Eye-to-Eye Fit for Reliable Geometry

Good handling starts with correct geometry. This spring measures 25-3/8" from eye to eye (unloaded) and 1-3/4" wide, keeping axle alignment consistent so the trailer tracks straight. The compact double-eye design connects cleanly to hangers and shackle straps, giving solid movement through its full range without throwing off balance.

Ready for Real Use: Designed for Single or Multi-Axle Setups

Whether it’s one axle or several working together through an equalizer, this spring fits right into standard hanger and shackle layouts. It attaches at one end to a hanger on the frame and at the other to shackle straps that let it flex over uneven ground. Replace springs in pairs for proper alignment and smooth suspension action every time.

Video Transcript for Detailed Breakdown of the 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Dexter 25 3/8 inch long 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for the 6,000 pound trailer axles. Now, this leaf spring will act as part of your trailer's suspension system. Basically, it'll provide the attachment point for your trailer's axle, has multiple leaves to allow flexibility to absorb road shock, and this one would have five leaves. Allows for a nice, smooth ride, reduces wear and tear on the trailer, and it'll ensure a level ride on any bumpy or uneven surfaces. Now, the length we had mentioned is always measured from the center of one eye to the center of the other when it's unloaded, like it is now.

So, what we're gonna do is take a tape measure, from center to center and measure 25 3/8 inch measurement. The width on the spring is 1 3/4 inches. This is a sturdy steel construction. You could see the nylon bushings are installed included. The eye diameter when the bushings are installed 9/16 of an inch.

Now, the pre-mounted hangers are the aftermarket hangar kit, which is required for installation, those items we do sell separate on our website. Basically, this spring will attach to your hanger that's mounted on the trailer frame at one end, and then on the other end it connects to shackle straps, which are suspended from either a hanger or equalizer. This is for a quantity of one leaf spring. Spring capacity is 3,000 pounds, so when this is matched with one on the other side of the axle, it'll meet the 6,000 pound axle capacity. Now, there are additional dimensions on this spring that are listed on the product page if you do need them.

That should do it for a look at the Dexter 25 3/8 inch long 5-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 6,000 pound trailer axles.

Perfect fit. Exact fit especially since the original manufacturer is out of business. Super help finding the replacement via chat. Thank you so much. Also they had it at my door in less than 72 hours. This is a picture of what was broken!

by:

Springs are perfect and delivered quickly. The packaging did not fare well in shipment and shipper had taped the box back together the best they could. All parts are in fine shape with no damage.

Replaced some prematurely worn-out springs on our RV. Time will tell how they hold up, but they fit perfectly in my application. Replaced the included nylon bushings with brass bushings before install.

It appears I had a bad Dexter spring on my 2026 Sunlite 21TH. Didnt want to deal with Warranty stuff so purchased 4 new springs from etrailer.

Perfect replacement for stock springs on my Coachmen Clipper Popup camper

by:

the ordering process was easy, the shipping was very quick and the installation was easy for the most part. I had to replace a broken spring on a tandem axle set up which had a equalizer which had rotated due to the trailing broken spring. I replaced the other side spring and it was a very easy. I have not used the 5th. wheel yet but don't see any problems. Thanks for the great service....

junk
bought for my 3500 pound single
axle TT
1st trip already flat
Trailer weighed and under limits

I purchased my 5x8 tilting kit trailer in 1993. I added a stake bed and plywood deck and it served me well over the years. I discovered recently that the axle and springs had rusted severely. I planned to scrap the trailer and purchase another. After searching months for new or used and having no luck, I decided to look into replacing the axle and springs. I was able to find replacement with ETRAILER. I was nervous about ordering and worried that it would not fit but I went ahead anyway. My son and I replaced the axle and it fits perfectly. Thanks ETRAILER for helping to save my very useful tool!

Delivered to Guam and got to fully restored my boat trailer for a fraction of what could have cost me on island. Perfect choice

by:

Very nice looking leaf springs, although being a Dexter product I would have thought they were made in USA, a little disappointed they are not, I will be installing on my 20’ enclosed trailer

by:

The service was terrific! My wife and I headset out on the road for a cross-country trip and after 400 miles I found I had a broken spring and it was Labor Day weekend also. You guys got that spring to me very quickly and I was able to get back on my way. By the way, I bought an extra one for the next time lol. Again thank you so much!

Installed 4 new springs, Moryde equalizer and wet bolt kit onto 17 Imagine 2800 BH camper. Total time was 5 hours including blocking up the camper and clean up.
No fitment issues. Ride height increased by 1 inch.
Quality Dexter springs.

I had purchased 4 of the DX23CR Springs to replace the OEM springs on my Grand Design Imagine XLS 22MLE. The springs were a direct replacement, however I have the MORyde CRE3000 with a wet bolt kit installed. When I removed the nylon bushing to install the bronze bushings for the wet bolts, the bronze bushings fell right thru the hole in the spring eyelets. Eyelets were to large.
I returned the 4 springs and Etrailer sent me out Four more, they had the same issue.
Etrailer was awesome as far as the returns were a breeze.
Still on search for a spring with the proper eyelet hole dimensions

These came quick. I haven't had a chance to pull it far down the road but it was a great replacement for the single leaf springs that tracker used on their trailers for the tahoe t16 boats. The shackle strap kit that I used with these worked great as well, however, there was slack in the bushing. It is supposed to be a 9/16" eye in the spring and the shackle kit was 9/16" as well. I went ahead and put it together so hopefully that doesn't come back on me to have to replace prematurely. I will know more later down the road.

We have a new micro-camper trailer, out of the factory weighing 600 pounds. I added 600 pounds of equipment, still well below the limits of the 2000 axle and 1000 pound (each) 3-leaf springs. However, after a little towing on rough highways, the springs were deforming and bottoming out on the frame. I swapped them out with these 4-leaf 1400 pound springs. Now all is good!

got tired of replacing one item here and one item there so I changed the whole suspension this time. The equipment has been good and the service was great. If I find anything goes wrong in the future, I am certain this company will stand behind the products they offer.

  • How to Determine Replacement 6,000 lb Leaf Springs For Arctic Wolf 5th Wheel Trailer
Hey Bekzod, So while we don't have a way of knowing the exact leaf springs for your Arctic Wolf 5th wheel trailer, I can help you determine the correct replacements. You do have to take a measurement, though it's pretty easy, as all you need to do is measure your current leaf springs from center-to-center of the spring eyes. Regarding the accuracy, since the springs flatten a bit over time, you should go with ones that measure a bit shorter than what you currently have. For example, if...

The Dexter # DX23CR will be our closest option and this spring is 25-1/4" long. It can be used on your camper, but all 4 springs would need to be replaced.
