Question:
I have a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with the Curt C56332 wiring harness and 4 to 7 pole connector. My trailer has separate amber turn signals and I believe the Curt C56196 converter should work in this application. My trailer lights are all LED. I wonder what happens when I put the Four way hazard flashers On. Will the brake lights flash and not the Amber turn signals or what? I need to replace my Curt 4 to 7 way + 4 with test LEDs Since the power feed is not working. I do have a good 12 volts feeding it. I am not finding it on line. I purchased it, the converter and hitch 6 years ago and it has been fine till now. The connector inside still looks good despite the weather.

Expert Reply:
For your 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, all trailer wiring harnesses will give you the combined wiring. This is the traditional configuration for all trailer connectors. Then to separate the wires on your trailer you will use # PP20-702 which will work well with LED lights. This will allow you to separate the turn signals from the brake light so when you put your flashers on I believe it will utilize the amber lights on your trailer.
The replacement adapter you are seeking is the Adapter 4 Way to 7-Blade RV Connector w/Test Lamps # C96KR.
