does the roller bunks have to start at the beginning of the stern or can it start a foot in. I am replacing my 6 bunks with 5 roller bunks

The Dutton-Lainson Roller Bunks, # DL21741, do not have to start at the beginning of the stern. To install the roller bunks on your 6 foot bunks you could mount one 5 foot section on your bunks and leave 6 inches on each end. The 5 foot roller sections require two Dutton-Lainson Roller Bunk Bracket, # DL21742.
You will also want to make sure that the roller bunks will be able to handle the weight capacity of your boat. The weight capacity of the set of two roller bunks is 3,000 lbs.
