Question:
Can I put 1 inch bearings and races in a hub that has 1 1/16 bearings
asked by: Todd
Expert Reply:
If your existing hub uses 1-1/16 inch bearings, they will need to be replaced the exact same size bearings and races, # L44649, and # L44610. We also have the complete bearing kit available as part # BK1-150, which includes two 1-1/16 bearings and matching races, as well as a grease seal, cotter pin and EZ Lube spindle washer.
Although one sixteenth of an inch may not seem like much of a difference, no parts are more critical for the dependable performance of your trailer than the bearings, races, and seals, so I can't recommend you use bearings other than the one the hub was designed to use. Doing so could potentially cause damage to your hub, and in turn affect other crucial components on your trailer.
