Will Bumper Cap Fit Back on 2019 Ram 1500 Classic With etrailer Trailer Hitch
Updated 03/09/2020 | Published 03/07/2020 >
Question:
I have a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 classic express. I just put the etrailer hutch and the bolt that on top won’t let the cap go all the way on the bumper. If you put your hand on the bumper the cap will pop up on one side. Do I have the right hitch?

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98852 is a fit for your 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, so you do have the right hitch for your truck. It is rare that the bumper cap can't go back on easily, but the space between the cap and your bumper is definitely evident in the photo you sent.
What has worked for some people is to try re-installing and changing the order in which you torque down the bolts to get the hitch to seat a little bit differently and allow the cap to sit down. You can also try working the flat head socket cap screw back in and out a bit to get it to potentially seat lower, as well as seeing if there is anything interfering with where the cap installs as far as debris.
I have added a link to a video review of an install and at the end it shows you how easy it should be to re-install the cap on your 2019 Ram 1500 Classic after installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98852.
