Question:
What is the physical differences between a Curt hitch 17062 10,000 lb and the 17063 14,000 lb? My trailer is 5000 lb and I bought the 17063 by mistake.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use. If your trailer is 5,000lbs fully loaded, the # C17062 would be the better option but with much more weight added the # 17063 would be optimal.
A key consideration with a heaver weight distribution setup than needed is it will likely stiffen your ride unnecesarily. That said it doesn't mean you can't use it successfully.
