You definitely can use the Optronics Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light # STL64RB as a 3rd brake light! You'll need to cap off the black wire, ground the white wire, and then install the Pacer Performance 3rd Brake Light Logic Module # PP20-702 in-line with the red wire to isolate the brake signal from the turn signal. Attached is photo of the installation instructions for the module that you can reference.
I also recommend using either the Black # A64BB or Chrome # A64CRB mounting bezel for a finished look to your 3rd brake light.
