Can Advent AC System ADV25SR Be Installed On A 6-1/4" Thick Roof?

Question:

Hi! I am looking at purchasing the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System, Part Number: ADV25SR. I have a 2025 Outdoors RV travel trailer. Model 260 KRS. My roof is about 6 1/4inch total thickness from exterior roofing to interior ceiling material. Does Advent make longer mounting bolts to accommodate thicker roofs such as mine? If so, is that something that I can order thru your website? Thank you! Mike Hetherington

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out. Your roof thickness is going to make this tricky. That Advent system is really built around a standard roof thickness of 2-1/2" to 5", and at roughly 6-1/4" you’re outside that range. Advent doesn’t offer a longer bolt kit for thicker roofs, so the hardware that comes with it isn’t going to reach as-is. We don't offer a longer bolt alternative either.

That said, guys do make it work by sourcing longer bolts locally and adjusting things during install, but you’ve got to make sure you’re still getting proper gasket compression and the ceiling assembly lines up right. With those thicker Outdoors RV roofs, that’s the part that matters most. It’s doable, just not a straight bolt-in situation, and you’ll want to take your time getting everything to seal and clamp down correctly.
