Recommended Out of the Way Brake Controller for 2009 Ford F-150 With Factory 7-Way

2009 f-150. Does this controller fit in the little cubby left of center in the dash where the factory controller fits. And how does it attach in the cubby. Oh it has towing package installed everything except controller. Which controller would you recommend. Tow travel trailer about 5 to 7,000 lbs two axels.

The Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV with Wiring Adapter # C51436 is a very good option for your 2009 Ford F-150, though to mount it you will need to use the included mounting bracket and screw it in under the dash.
If you (understandably) don't want a brake controller unit in the cab of your F-150, you do have a great option I recommend checking out, the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180.
The Echo is the best option because it will simply plug into the 7-way on the back of your F-150. There is no other wiring needed and the only other thing you would need in order to use it is a smartphone; just download the controller's app and you're set! There is no unit in the cab of your truck so it is totally out of your way.
This is a proportional brake controller which responds to the deceleration of your truck for smooth braking and a comfortable towing experience. This is definitely the route I recommend going because the Echo is the by far easiest brake controller on the market to use.
