Will Curt Triflex Brake Controller Cause Battery Drain
Published 07/15/2024 >
Question:
Hi. I have the controller on my vehicle and I am not using it. I think it’s draining my battery. Is there an off switch for the controller? Or should I just unplug it at the wire harness? I just bought the car and am unfamiliar with the controller.

Hey Christa, so the Curt Triflex part # C24VV shouldn't be draining your battery since it should be going into a sleep mode when not in use. To cut power to it you would need to unplug it at the rear of the controller. There isn't a master power switch for it as that would cause it to lose settings.

Thank you! I don’t know if it’s on sleep mode it shows the number 99…I disconnected from the wire harness in the back. I hope that solves my battery issues. It may likely be something else draining my battery.
