For your 2008 Ford F-150 the Curt hitch part # C14360 is a confirmed fit and would be a great option. To install a brake controller in your 2008 Ford F-150 you would be able to use the brake controller port under the dash and you will need to complete the wiring at the rear of your vehicle to the 7-way (# 37185) at the rear of the truck.
The install harness you would want is the part # 3035-P and then also the part # 37185 to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. I attached a help article that details how to complete the wiring from the frame rail to the 7-way as well.
This will work great to convert your 4-way to a 7-way and install the Curt controller # C24VV.
