Question:
I have a 2011 Ford Escape XLT w/ 3L 6 cyl with 1 1/4inch class 2 hitch. The manual states towing capacity is 3500#. Im pulling/renting a camper thats 3300# 175 miles 1 way and back again flat highway in Michigan. I want to use their hitch which is a 2inch with torsion/stabalizer bars so would the 1 1/4inch to 2inch adapter safely pull this camper?

You can't use a weight distribution system on a vehicle that has a 1-1/4 inch hitch. Adapters do not allow this to happen either as they typically lower capacity of the hitch. Since the trailer you plan to tow is below the weight capacity of the vehicle you'd just need to tow it with a standard ball mount.
A better option would be suspension enhancement for your 2011 Ford Escape like the Timbren kit part # TFRESC which will reduce the sag you have in the rear suspension when towing.
