Installation of Trailer Wiring Harness on 2018 Lexus RX 350L

Question:

118225 I need to know where the plug is underneath the vehicle. 2018 Lexus RX 350L I have plugged in the one inside the vehicle which by the way, says its on the passenger side on the instructions but its on drivers side on vehicle itself. The only wires I see under this car is the ones for the backup sensors.

For your 2018 Lexus RX350L the wiring harness # 118255 is not a fit. You will use the harness # 118252 if you have the factory tow package. This harness will be near the hitch on the driver's side of the vehicle and this harness has a protective cap so it won't be as obvious a match until the cap is removed.

If you don't easily find the wiring harness then it is likely you don't have the factory tow package. If you don't have the factory wiring, then I recommend the 4-Pole Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # C59496 which will require splicing into factory wiring. If you want to avoid splicing, there is a zero contact harness that you can use. It is the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT which captures the signal without cutting the wires and protects your warranty. I've attached some videos to assist.

You may also be interested in a wiring harness bracket like # C58001 or # C58002.
