If the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13171 bolt holes aren't matching up with the bolts hole locations on your 2015 Jeep Cherokee then the brackets may have been bent sometime during the shipping process. Since this particular trailer hitch has longer brackets that is more than likely the case and you can bend the brackets slightly to get them to match up. Just be sure that nothing starts creasing and you don't have any paint flaking though as that could meant the integrity of the trailer hitch has been compromised and you'd be safer with a replacement.
