Is Power Wire to Battery Needed to Install Wiring Harness on 2019 Jeep Cherokee
Updated 06/11/2019 | Published 06/10/2019 >
Question:
Good morning. Have installed the wiring harness in the rear of the vehicle. Is the black wire to the battery needed? I assumed the trailer lights would pull power from the tail lights on the Jeep? The small trailer we are pulling does not have brakes only lights. Thanks

When installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56406 on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee you will need to route the power wire to the battery of your Jeep. That is how the converter gets power, as opposed to the taillights; the converter is also what protects your vehicle's wiring.
I have added a link to a help article on routing a power wire which I recommend taking a look at.
