Question:
I have a 2008 Ford Fusion with a rear spoiler bar which is part of the trunk of the car. I need to have a hitchinstalled that will allow me to affix a 2-bike bycicle hitch mount rack carrier. The shank size is 1 and 1/4 inch. Please advise where in the Buffalo, New York area I can have this hitch installed and would appreciate the specifications of the hitch that should be installed including the names of the recommended manufacturers. Much appreciate your information.

For your 2008 Ford Fusion I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11329. This hitch is an easy installation that you can do or have any local mechanic you trust do for you. I've attached the installation details to assist.
The 1-1/4 inch hitch is decently recessed under the bumper of your vehicle, so I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH903202. This bike rack will give you 8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack. This means it will have good bumper clearance. This rack comes with the locking anti-rattle pin.
You will not need any help from a shop to install this bike rack. It is an easy installation you can do. I've attached videos to assist.
