To remove the existing hitch ball combo on your Andersen Rapid Hitch Ball Mount like # AM3411, you will first need to remove the internal pin that goes through the ball housing and hitch ball. The small pin has a threaded hole in it. This lets you insert a 1/4 inch screw or bolt into it. You can then simply turn the pin so that it starts to come out enough from the housing so you can pull it out the rest of the way. Once the pin is removed, the ball combo will slide right out.

You may need to apply a spray lubricant like PB Blaster to help lubricate the pin.

Morning, On my Andersen adjustable hitch I have tried and tried to remove the internal pin. I have a 1/4 coarse threaded bolt in it but it won’t budge. I’ve tried WD40 and PB Blaster. I’ve tried pulling, twisting and tapping with mallet. Any ideas??

@MikeW Have you tried setting it down in a pan of gear oil so that it is submerged? I would try that if you can and let it sit for like a day and see if that lets it free up.

@JamesonC , I’ve soaked it with WD40 and Blaster for three different days to no avail. Is there anything like a pulley puller that would help that you could hook onto the bolt head?

@MikeW A slide hammer might work best. If you get right thread for that should be best way to put a lot of force into pulling it out. You might see if your local hardware store has a tool they'd let you borrow for that. I'd bring the ball mount platform with you if you can.
