How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and today, we're taking a look at the AlumiBall dual greaseless ball system from Andersen Hitches. Now this guy right here is designed to give you the proper adjustment that you need to get level with your camper or trailer. So let's take a closer look and see what's special about it. So the first thing that stands out to me is the black anodized finish. So this finish is actually a coating that's gonna allow your ball mount to look nicer for longer. It's also gonna help hide those signs of abuse for being a ball mount on the back of a pickup.
On the front, you're gonna have a dual ball. You have a 2 5/16 that's rated up to 12,500 pounds. And you have a two-inch ball, it's rated right up to 10K. 1,500 tongue weight in general, and you're also able to adjust this guy in one-inch increments. As far as switching over to your different type of ball or for your drop or rise, it's just as easy as using the included pin.
Out the box, you won't receive a pin and clip or a lock, and I would suggest adding on an additional lock just to keep your investment secure. Now as far as the end of our shank here, you can see it's a solid aluminum piece here, and it feels pretty hefty in my hand, even though it's very lightweight for the rating. You're able to get this guy set up right in. And also the angle here is designed to make it easier for aligning into your receiver opening. So you can drop this guy lower, if you go to like a rental store and rent a mulcher or something that comes on a trailer that you would put on a hitch.
So you have a lot of flexibility with this ball mount. In general, Andersen does a real good job as far as using quality materials, and it's made right here in the US and that's just good for everyone. Now when you look at objects like ball mounts and towing equipment, I usually just focus on the quality of the material over the brand. And Andersen is just one of those go-to brands that I can always basically blindly recommend to people 'cause in general, this is a lot, something like this is just to allow you to not worry about how you're gonna get your trailer or camper to where you need it to go so you can focus on the real things of making memories. 'Cause here at etrailer, we're just a community of enthusiasts, and we would love to see how you're setting up and using your Andersen ball mount.
So again, this is Ed with etrailer.com taking a look at the anodized black Andersen Hitches AlumiBall with greaseless balls. Have a great day.
Great quality and finish!
This product is really different with the all aluminum design. I wanted some
top rated hitch that won't rust up, even though other steel hitches are usually just experiencing surface rust. It has the numbers for towing I need and I don't know how anything could be improved.
This hitch is second to none! Great American craftsmanship, fits good, great design. And, as usual e-trailer delivery & customer service is fantastic! Thanks.
Well made US product
