Recommended Base Plates to Use with Blue Ox Aventa Tow Bar on 2017 Fiat 500

Hi Chris, I now stepped away from the Fiat 500 and are considering the Toyota Yaris. Would the same Base Plate apply?

You can definitely continue to use your existing Blue Ox Aventa LX Tow Bar with your 2017 Fiat 500. You will just need a compatible base plate kit for the vehicle.
If your Fiat is the Lounge or Pop model I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2801. If you have the Abarth model I recommend the Blue Ox # BX2805. Both kits are compatible and will work great with your Aventa LX Tow Bar.
If you don't have them already, you will also need a lighting solution and a supplemental braking system to flat tow your vehicle. For a lighting solution I recommend the Curt Towed-Vehicle RV Harness # C58911. This is a custom harness that will plug into factory ports at the vehicle's tail lights and will give you the needed signal lights for towing.
For a supplemental braking system I really like the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This proportional system will activate the Fiat's brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in the RV. After the initial installation this is a mostly maintenance-free system that requires very little attention as you transition from flat towing to everyday driving (and vice versa).
You may also need a high-low adapter in order to keep the tow bar level. I have attached an article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
