This setup keeps your front end looking clean when you’re not towing. The hidden design leaves no bulky crossbars or brackets showing, and the removable arms twist out quickly for a seamless, factory look. Receiver covers plug into the open sockets to keep out dirt and debris, so the next hook-up goes smoothly without any buildup in the base plate.
Connecting for travel is fast and straightforward. Each arm slides into the receiver, twists to lock in place, and secures with a pin. When you’re done towing, pull the pin, rotate the arm, and pop it out—it’s that simple. This twist-lock system makes solo hookups easier and helps ensure a solid, secure connection every time.
This base plate bolts directly to your chassis with no welding required. The durable steel design spreads towing forces evenly to help prevent stress on your suspension during long-distance trips. Powder coating resists rust and corrosion, giving you confidence mile after mile. Distance between brackets is 18" with a bracket height of 12", letting you line up your tow bar for a level pull.
If you already own a tow bar setup you like, this base plate works right in. It pairs directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection and can be adapted for use with Roadmaster or Demco tow bars using the correct adapter (sold separately). Integrated mounting points make it easy to attach an electrical connector plug bracket so your wiring stays neat and within reach.

not hard to install just have to drill a couple of holes can barely tell it is there when the pins are not in have pulled around 3-4000 miles with it in the last year

Great to find one that fits myFiat 500 Pop. The guy did a great job of installing it.
Not too difficult for do it yourself. Fit well on our new Fiat 500. It took the longest to place the vehicle to baseplate safety ties. BlueOx needs to have different strength cabling, lighter, for these ties, and 2 more caribiners. Pretty good instructions. Took about 4 hours.

First - The product selection, staff, shipping, price match and technical tips and videos available at etrailer are outstanding. The invisibrake is a nice system but installation can be challenging. I installed it in a Fiat 500 and ended up re-engineering some of the parts.
We bought the Blue Ox Patriot Braking System from etrailer based on their reviews and their reputation of standing behind their products and being available for questions. We also bought the Blue Ox Tow Bar and Base Plate which I installed myself on our 2016 Fiat Pop. It is such a small and light car that we could probably tow it in most states without a braking system, but we didn't want to take a chance. Better safe than sorry. The system works great. Fortunately, I did not have any issues with the tow bar install except for drilling two holes through the bumper area, however that was my fault (dull bit). etrailer is E-excellent!
etrailer helped me out with a misorder (my responsibility) and quickly shipped the correct base plate. Arrived perfectly and gave me all of the info. to ship back the incorrectly ordered base plate. As to the base plate itself, I am almost done installing this on my Fiat 500C and it has been 100% perfect.

Item appears exactly as described and on time. Instructions seem pretty straightforward.
Only other comment would be packaging could be a little better. Box was in bad shape with two parts of frame sticking out, but not damaged.
