Review of Curt Tow Bar Wiring C58911

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Curt Towed Vehicle RV Harness. This product is designed to fit certain years of the Fiat 500. To ensure that this is a fit for your vehicle, you can always use the Vehicle Fit Guide located at etrailer.com.Now this harness is ideal for connecting your vehicle's electrical system to your RV while dinghy towing or flat towing. It features a simple, plug and play design, which eliminates the need for cutting or splicing wires. The harness is custom-fit for your vehicle, so it plugs into the factory wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's side and passenger side taillights. Now these plugs, again they're custom-fit, so they're going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle, and they snap-lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit.

One of these would plug into the factory harness behind the taillight, and then the harness that was connected to the taillight will plug into the unit. So it basically takes one connection and splits it.It's a really nice design, it's very easy to use. The wiring is protected with wire looms, so you don't have to worry about your wiring getting damaged. And then you have plenty of wiring here, because this would need to run up to the front of the vehicle. The four-way flat connector will be mounted at the front of your vehicle, the mounting bracket is included to keep it safe and secure and easily accessible.

Once your harness is fully installed, once you're set to go, all you have to do is plug the provided four-way flat connector from the front of the vehicle to the RV's four-way flat socket, and it comes with the extension to do that.Easy to do, it's a nice design, and again it doesn't require any splicing or cutting into your factory wiring. You will need to make a ground connection, that's the white wire with the ring terminal attached to it. You want to get that grounded to a suitable grounding location, and you can use the included grounding screw to achieve that. And it also comes with a lot of zip ties, you can use these zip ties to secure any excess or slack in your wiring at the rear, and as it runs to the front of the vehicle. Also comes with some cable tie holders and some more hardware to get the bracket installed at the front of the vehicle.

It also comes with a dust cap. This could be applied to cover up the four-way flat connector. That way when your plug's not being used, it's safe and protected. Now this unit, once it's fully installed, it uses your existing taillights from the vehicle, so it uses your vehicle's existing taillights, turn signals, and brake lights, which eliminates the need to purchase additional lighting. The vehicle's lights operate in conjunction with your RV's lights, and they function just like a standard trailer when it's being towed behind the vehicle. It does feature integrated block diodes that isolate sensitive vehicle electronics from the RV's signals.

It comes with everything needed for the installation, so you're going to get detailed installation instructions. You're going to get the harness, you're going to get the four-flat extension, mounting bracket, zip ties, dust cap, and the necessary hardware to get the unit installed. That's going to do it for today's look at the Curt Towed Vehicle RV Harness.
