When you’re not towing, this setup keeps your vehicle looking factory fresh. The hidden design keeps brackets from sticking out past the bumper, and the arms remove with a simple twist. Once they’re off, plug in the included receiver covers to keep dirt out and give the front end a finished look. You won’t have to worry about bumping into any exposed hardware when walking by.
Each removable arm slides into the receiver, twists to lock, and secures with a pin. The straightforward design makes attaching or removing the arms quick and reliable every time you tow. With a distance between brackets of 22" and a bracket height of 12-1/2", it’s easy to plan the rest of your setup around these points.
The heavy-duty steel construction is powder coated to resist rust and corrosion, standing up well to years of towing. The base plate bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required, and its sturdy design spreads towing forces evenly to help reduce stress on your suspension. It’s built to handle thousands of miles of road time without worry.
This kit pairs directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a solid, reliable connection. It can also be adapted for use with Roadmaster tow bars using adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5 (sold separately), or with Demco tow bars using adapter DM9523041 (sold separately). Integrated mounting points make it simple to attach an electrical connector plug bracket (sold separately) so everything looks tidy and works smoothly when you hook up.
You can take this on as a weekend project without needing special tools or welding skills. The base plate bolts securely to your chassis using the included mounting hardware for a clean fit. Super high quality baseplate for towing by Blue Ox. Instructions, videos, shipping (one day!) and overall experience was awesome. A bit pricey but their quality and the additional support by E Trailer cannot be beat! BTW (E Trailer) the baseplate fits three different Jeep configurations but did not call out the Recon package. After looking at other brands which showed there's to fit the 3 variations AND the Recon, I figured it would fit and it DID. You should definitely upgrade to include the Recon Edition.
lways great to shop at etrailer, especially the tech experts. Royce did an awesome job with our order. Everything fit perfectly and the help video provided the guidance I needed.
We installed the baseplate on our 2023 Encore GX AWD as well as the light harness and breakaway switch. A couple of items were incorrect but Royce corrected the issues with no problems.

2019 Ford Ranger baseplate worked and fitted fine for me. 73 yrs old took me a couple hours but took many breaks. Younger could do it less than hour I'm sure.
Also works fine with my Blue Ox tow bar.

Very nice product. No modifications needed at all. Installed it myself at the campgroung we live at. Went easy and smooth. Very clean installation. Especially the two pins in the middle for mounting the electrical receiver in the fromt grill was a nice surprice. I did not it had this. Gives a very nice look when it is installed and it is very sturdy.
could not be better, from intial phone call to Paula to delivery and just today I had it installed. Perfect with no problems, video simplified the whole install! The wiring instructions were spot on and was comfortable towing it behind motorhome direct from install guys. all it well. I was waiting to get it installed to make these comments.

Worked great. Didn’t fall off. The Fiat followed us all the way from Texas to Sea Island Ga without a hitch.
Delivered quickly.
Very easy to install, replaces factory sub-bumper, and honestly about 3 times more rugged.
spacers shown in picture are already there behind factory bumper.
A lift or ramps are helpful, as car is very low to the ground.
took about 1 1/2 hours total. Hint: after removing nose, remove grill separately if possible, then after installation, you can replace nose totally, then get better idea where to trim grill and snap it into place
Baseplate installation went pretty smooth with no surprises. I chose to separate the lower grill piece while I had the bumper cover off. This allowed me to install the bumper cover over the baseplate and then accurately determine where to make my cuts in the grill for the baseplate protrusions. The Blue Ox base plate is well made and fit perfectly.
I originally purchased the incorrect item, etrailer easily allowed me to exchange it for the right tow bar with excellent assistance.
This Blue Ox Baseplate was easy to install and fit great. etralier sent me a video of my same make and year car showing the baseplate installation. Armed with the knowledge the video provided really made my installation job easy. Quality parts and quality service by etrailer.
An added bonus was that the baseplate and tow bar I ordered arrived in 2 days.
