Question:
I recently purchased a 2001 Jayco Eagle 12 SO pop-up camper. I would like to convert the non-functioning surge brakes to electric. Can you please tell me what brake assemblies I will need? It has a Dexter axle, stamped Model: SLR 10h 14.0 S/N: D6018640.

Your 2001 Jayco Eagle 12 SO pop-up camper very likely has a 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide hub and drum assembly, though you need to check to verify that is the case before ordering a brake assembly.
If it does, I recommend Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35-SA, which are self-adjusting brakes that are designed to work with 3,500 lb axles. It is also important that you have a 4-bolt mounting flange such as # 4-35 to mount your brakes; this particular flange is for 2-3/8" round axles. You will also need a Breakaway Kit such as the Breakaway Kit with Built-In Battery Charger # 50-85-313 as well as a brake controller and wiring for your tow vehicle (if it does not already have it). I would be happy to recommend a controller and the wiring if you let me know what year, make and model your tow vehicle is.
