This Dexter hub-and-drum assembly gives you dependable braking performance on trailers with 2,200-lb axles and BTR spindles. The 7"-diameter drum works with 7" × 1-3/4" hydraulic brake assemblies to give your trailer smooth, even stopping power. It’s a simple way to restore confident braking and keep your load steady on the road.
Everything you need to mount and run is in the box. The hub comes complete with inner and outer bearings (L44649), matching L44610 races, a 10-9 grease seal (1.500" ID × 1.987" OD), a grease cap with 1.98" flange, 1/2" wheel bolts, and lug nuts. With all the parts matched and included, installation is straightforward—no hunting for separate pieces or worrying about compatibility.
The hub and drum are made from durable iron that stands up to the heat and stress of everyday towing. The solid build helps resist wear and keeps the braking surface true over time, so you can count on consistent performance mile after mile.
With its 4-on-4" bolt pattern and compatibility with 10", 12", and 13" wheels, this assembly fits many small trailer setups. Each hub supports up to 1,100 lbs, giving you a balanced, reliable foundation for light-duty hauling. It’s a smart way to bring older or smaller trailers back to full working order without guesswork.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Drums installed easily, wheel bearing races not very good quality,had some pitting due to rust, Decided to install as I had a trip planned and didn't want to spend another weekend working on it. Hope it lasts.

Put this on my 2002 Jayco Eagle 14so. Perfect fit. The old lugs spun in the hub, easier just to replace than try to repair.

Their on time delivery was really Excellent ! I’m in gratitude to setup Hydraulic brakes to keep my load in order and safe from twisting. They exceeded the mark on ‘Prompt delivery’. However, I had to get the right spindle from another reseller; check that ‘a/16 is greater than road tolerance.

Works perfectly and made well! I have a 1997 Jayco 1207 popup camper and it was kind of a guess on which one to buy. I was torn between the Dexter 7 x 1 1/4 or the 7 x 1 3/4. I chose this one and it was perfect! My only complaint is that one of them arrived to me with multiple chips and starting to rust, but I figured it's just going to get scratched up anyways so I just put it on the trailer. The bearings, grease seal, lug nuts, and the actual hug seem to be just like OEM. Shipping was very quick as well!
