This hub-and-drum assembly is made for 9K to 10K general-duty Dexter axles built before July 2009. It’s sturdy iron construction with a 12-1/4" diameter x 3-3/8" wide drum that provides a solid braking surface for electric or hydraulic systems. With its 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern and 5/8" wheel bolts, it’s designed for serious load capacity—5,000 lbs per hub—giving you reliable braking under heavy weight.
Keeping bearings running smooth is easy with this oil bath design. Instead of tearing down the hub to inspect grease, just look through the clear oil cap to confirm lubricant level. The kit includes the complete oil cap kit (RG04-270) with cap, O-ring, and plug, so you can keep the system sealed and clean while getting quick visual checks before any trip.
You get everything needed for installation right out of the box—inner bearing 387A (2.250" ID), outer bearing 25580 (1.750" ID), inner race 382A, outer race 25520, and unitized oil seal 10-51 (2.875" ID x 3.880" OD). With the bearings, races, oil seal, oil cap, wheel bolts, and lug nuts all included, you’ve got a matched system built to fit and perform together.
This Dexter hub and drum is built from durable iron for strength mile after mile. Designed for the demands of heavy trailers and frequent stops, it gives consistent braking performance and long-term reliability when properly maintained. It’s a dependable setup that handles the workload without fuss or constant upkeep.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Still going strong with no problems. I am getting ready to remove my hubs and inspect my brakes before our spring travel and I dont expect any issues . I will naturally have to replace seals and Kodiak hub oil then I will be set for couple more years of trouble free travel. I really enjoy not having to dealing with having to repack the wheel bearings on a yearly basis it was always a pain especially after getting older in life. Thanks
