How to Use a TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension to Tow a Trailer with the Tailgate Down

Question:

I would like to load a motorcycle in my truck bed which requires the tailgate to be down. Will this extension allow towing of a travel trailer with the tailgate down?

For starters, the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension will only work if you have a SuperHitch Original, Magnum, or Hero already installed on your tow vehicle. These hitches have a dual receiver tube opening which is what allows them to work with the SuperTruss. If you need one then please let me know the year, make, and model of the tow vehicle.

In order to determine if the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension part # TLE1524 will work for you, you will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer edge of the tailgate while folded down. If this distance is less than 24" than this extension will be what you need. However, if it is not then you will want to consider a longer extension which I have attached a list of for you below

60" - part # TLE1560
