Are Special Trailer Wheel/Tire Products Like TA26RR Dynamically Balanced Before Shipment

Updated 06/28/2018 | Published 06/26/2018

Question:

Are the tires/wheels balanced prior to shipment? If not, is it a good idea to get the wheels/tires balance prior to mounting them on my trailer?

The special trailer wheel/tire products we sell, such as Taskmaster 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire/Wheel # TA26RR, have not been given a full dynamic balance like passenger vehicle tires get when mounted. But what the distributor does is match up the tire's low spot (its lightest point) to the wheel's high spot (its heaviest point) and this provides a degree of "balancing" that is usually adequate for a trailer tire.

You certainly can have a wheel/tire product like this dynamically balanced by a tire shop with the right equipment but it is not essential to do this. The need for and benefit from doing this will vary by trailer; some RVers do consider full dynamic balancing of trailer tires to be worthwhile.
