Question:
To make sure I fully understand set up, on the 2018 focus to tow you have to remove the negative cable from the battery. I saw an item that that is mounted beside the battery with a switch passed through a grommet in the firewall to engage disengage the battery. Does the item you recommend have this as well?

On your 2018 Ford Focus I recommend the Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251, for a supplemental braking system. Mainly because no only does it work well (as does the InvisiBrake) it's a little easier to install. Our installers prefer it to any other permanently installed system. I've linked a video of when we installed it into a 2015 Focus for you. You're also going to need a Brake-Lite Relay, part # RM-88400, to keep the lights of the Focus from overriding the lights of the RV.
The InvisiBrake you mentioned, part # RM-8700, is an option and it also works well. If you decide to go this route you'll need a Stop Light Switch Kit, part # RM-751454, instead of the Brake-Lite Relay.
Either system will work with your Focus even though you have a Blue Ox base plate kit.
