Blue Ox Flat Tow Setup for 2026 Ford Maverick Hybrid

Updated 12/16/2025 | Published 11/25/2025

Question:

I'm looking for a complete setup for my 2026 Ford Maverick hybrid. I have used Blue Ox in the past and like it so I would like to at least get a base plate and tow bar from them again. Can you help me out here?

Hey Dan, I can definitely help you out! For a complete setup you will need the tow bar, base plate kit, safety cables, wiring, and a brake system. I recommend the following:

-Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU94ER

-Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar # BLU28QV (if you want a cover use # BLU53QV)

-Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267

-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # DM86VR

-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25

The Avail comes with safety cables so you won't need those parts separately. You may also need a high-low adapter like the etrailer High-Low Adjustable Adapter for Tow Bars # e52ZV to keep your setup level. I went ahead and attached a help article below which explains how to measure to see if an adapter is required.

Any big trips coming up once you get everything installed on your Maverick?

Hey Dan, how did your flat tow setup for the Maverick hybrid come together with the Blue Ox gear? I'm curious if the Avail tow bar and base plate worked smoothly with your setup. Your update could make it easier for others planning a similar build.
