Cable chains, like the Titan Chain Cable Tire Chains part # TC2019, do not have any type of tightening built into them so rubber adjusters are almost always needed.

For adjusters I recommend the Glacier Multi-Arm, part # PW103. I like the design with the metal ring in the middle because if one arm were to break you still have 5 other arms to keep the chains tight on your tires.

The cable chains are for very limited use and really won't supply a lot of traction for you. If you plan to use the chains regularly, or at least keep them for more than one season, I highly recommend stepping up to the Titan Chain, part # TC2317. It's a much higher quality chain than the cables and since these don't need separate rubber adjusters they end up not costing much more. The tensioning is built in to this chain.
