Question:

I want to buy the 2inch Shank Adapter for Yakima Ridgeback 8890298 however I do not know if it was manufactured before November 2015 of after that day. Is there a way to find out this?

To correctly identify the correct shank adapter for your Yakima Ridgeback, part # Y02457, you'll need to measure the holes at the end of the shank that the adapter will go over.

The adapter holes for the older racks made before November 2005 are sized for M8 bolts. They should measure about 8 to 9 millimeters in diameter, and you'll use part # 8880612 for your rack.

If it measures smaller, about 6 to 7 millimeters, then you've got a rack made after November 2005 and you'll want part # 8890298 instead to adapt to a 2 inch shank. This rack uses smaller, M6 bolts.
