Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this Yakima HitchLock for the Yakima hitch mounted bike racks. This HitchLock is going to lock and secure your Yakima hitch mounted bike carrier to your vehicle's hitch receiver, ensuring the safety of your gear. Now, this is going to work with any Yakima hitch mounted bike carrier. And this will simply attach to the end of your existing Yakima hitch pin.
And I happen to have a Yakima hitch pin right here. So, this is gonna be very simple to use. You're just going to push the lock over the end of the pin until it clicks as you just heard there and then it is in place. And then to remove, you're just going to take one of the included keys and you are gonna get two keys. And just insert the key into the lock, give it a quarter of a turn, and it will slide right off.
Now, this lock includes Yakima's Same Key System or SKS locking core and as I mentioned, two keys. And what's nice about these SKS cores is they can be changed out and keyed alike with your other Yakima locks. This also has, as you can see, an attached dust cap and that is going to help keep the dirt and debris out of your lock. And this does have a lifetime warranty. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today.

Lock works great, just wish the bolt on the bike rack was shorter.
Appears adequate for its intended use. Keys match both locks, a plus.
Fits on the end of the anti rattle pin of the bike rack I bought. Keeps the pin secured so no one can easily remove it and steal the rack.
The bike carrier is easy to set up and easy to install on the car. Once it is on the car it is easy to put the bikes on the carrier and they sure do ride on the carrier really nice.
Simple to use Hitch Lock with 2 keys and an attached key-hole cover. Works perfect with hitch pin that came with my Rhode Gear Highway 2 Bike Carrier, also bought here on etrailer.
This product is easy to install and get ready to mount to the vehicle. The only inconvenient feature is the hitch mount bolt that requires a wrench to install. I have another mfgs 2" hitch that utilizes a screw stabilizer on the end of the hitch rail and it makes install simpler. Overall good design and easy to load bikes on and off.
This hitch lock works well. It is definitely light duty though, and just for keeping honest people honest. Also, the protective cap doesn't stay on well, and keeps popping off. I don't think it will stay on during a trip.

Unfortunately the hitch pin didn’t fit my yakima bike rack.
I did receive a full refund which is nice.
The hitch pin lock works perfectly.
Had to use a heat gun to get the cap strap to hold the cover in place without popping open.
Authentic Yakima replacement part. Better purchase options than (another site) if the locks were in stock there.

Perfect replacement for the one I lost. It can be hard to sit on the skewer for locking (why I lost the original). Was able to get keys that match the bike rack cable locks.

Very well & have had this now for years
The lock works as intended except for what I assume is a plastic cover which would not stay attached to cover the key hole. We taped it on as we will not be removing the rack too often. I am not sure if there is a better way to secure it.

It always works great whenever, wherever we are.
Great customer service, responsive and informative in helping buy the right part.
Based on reviews of this hitch lock from Yakima failing, I purchased an extra. However, no failure to date.

A year later, and still no product failure. Part of this product success may be the fact that I changed the way I use it, keeping it permanently mounted on my RV hitch, minimizing the number of times I have to remove this lock.
