Thule Sidearm Ratcheting Arm Will Not Stay Locked

Question:
So I have three sidearm bike mounts and having issues with two of them. The issue Im having I put lock cores in them and lock it but the button can see be pressed to adjust the arm free. Its almost as if the lock slides just a hair to the opposite side so the button can be pressed.

This is the first time I have heard of this issue on the Thule Sidearm. The first thing I recommend checking is that the locks are seated all the way into the housing. Use the change key, # 853-1251 if you need it, to pull the locks out and put them back in.
There also could be damage to the mechanism which could occur if someone tried to turn the lock beyond its natural positions, used excessive force, or if some crud got in there and gummed up the works. Similarly, if the arm was pushed or pulled on while locked that could also cause damage.
And it is possible that if the hook assembly is in between ratchet clicks the mechanism won't be fully locked so you can try slight changes in the hook position to see if that helps. If nothing solves the issue then there must be an internal problem and the arms will need to be replaced on the 2 affected racks with # 753-3579.
