I need help getting set up for flat towing behind my American Heritage RV. 2017 Dodge 3500 Limited DRW 4x4 Crew Cab Long Bed Diesel

The equipment that you will need to flat tow your 2017 Ram 3500 includes a Base Plate Kit, Tow Bar, Safety Cables, Tow Bar Wiring, a Supplemental Braking System, and most likely a High-Low Adapter.

For a Base Plate Kit I recommend using the Blue Ox # BX1989 which will bolt securely to your chassis.

The Tow Bar that I recommend going with is the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar # BX7420 which is rated for 10,000 lbs and comes with Safety Cables.

I recommend installing the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-98146-7 to activate the lights on your Ram while it is being flat towed. This kit will make it so that hooking up the wiring is a simple plug-n-play process.

Since your American Heritage RV most likely has air brakes I highly recommend the SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243. This is one of the nicest systems we have that will engage the brakes on your Ram at the same time and intensity as what is done in your Heritage.

Be sure to follow any special instructions that you owner's manual might have about flat towing.
