Compatibility of the Curt # C14357 on a 2004 Ford F-150
Updated 05/17/2017 | Published 05/16/2017 >
Question:
I have a 2004 Ford F-150 and my total capabilities is listed at 6700# so normally you would use a class lll hitch I believe, but I would like to use this class lV hitch, just because it has the bolt hookup under the bumper. Will this work on my truck, will it fit and bolt right on? I will still stay at or below the recommended wt. of 6700 #. To me, more points of connection is better , the last hitch I had on the truck rotted off as I was picking up my boat, dont want that happening again. Thank you.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class IV, # C14357, can fit the 2004 Ford F-150 truck if that has never had a factory installed hitch.
The factory hitch uses part of the bumper structure and if removed aftermarket hitches will not be able to mount to the frame and bumper points.
