etrailer delivered on time as promised and I had no problems with the order. The product was as described and works perfectly with my Husky Centerpoint hitch. The large adjustment range lets me level my trailer when towing with my 3/4 ton Silverado. I have now towed my trailer about 15,000 miles with it and had no problems.

Still working great, my camper pulls nice and level. And I still highly recommend etrailer.

by:

It works, giving me the extra height needed. One problem I had to overcome was the depth the shank had to be inserted to line up the hitch pin holes: the welded brace hit the back edge of the bumper, so I had to modify the bumper by cutting a groove in the plastic bumper cover of my brand new truck. I did have a lot of play between the shank and hitch receiver, but a few wraps of foil tape snugged it up.

by:

I recently bought a new truck (Ram 2500 3/4 ton). My old truck was a Ram 1500 1/2 ton. My Husky hitch was fine on the 1500 truck, but not on the 2500, it sits a LOT higher off the ground. I needed a drop hitch that fit my Husky, and you guys HAVE IT. It worked out great, first trip out today with it, everything level and no sag on truck or camper. As stated in your catalog, this Curt brand DOES fit my Husky brand, NO PROBLEM. Thank you, what a life saver on not having to buy a whole new hitch.

by:

This is one heavy duty weight distribution shank. I am very happy with etrailer, Now I have all Curt equipment on the truck, and super fast delivery. A+ job thank you

by:

Was exactly what I was looking for.

by:

Very good quality, heavy duty construction and nice finish. Recently changed tow vehicle and needed to add more drop. This shank did the job.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of room for the adjustment needed. Excellent quality product, well fabricated. Very good customer service and speedy delivery time. Ordered on a Monday morning and had the part before 1pm the next day.

The part I ordered works perfect and we’re ready to begin another season of hauling our 27’ camper tomorrow.

by:

Every time I place an order with etrailer I know it will be correct. The service is great, Thank you!

by:

This is a good drop shank if you have a truck that is leveled with oversized tires.

by:

I recently purchased a 2015 Tahoe and since the trailer hitch is positioned above the bumper as opposed to my 2000 Tahoe which has the hitch located below the bumper, I had to find and purchase a new receiver. I found this product at etrailer and it fits perfectly. It is compatible with the Drawtite weight distribution ball.

Great!

I needed a weight distribution system and quickly realized that Curt was the best around. You get what you pay for so why not get the best!? Very simple to install and with the correct routine maintenance this will last forever, Shipping was fast and box was In good shape when it arrived.

by:

Needed a new shank as I bought the Class 5 hitch for my dodge,, I bought the class 5 that fit under the stock hitch and wish I had not, but after thought etc,, should have just removed the class 3 and bought a different 5,., all in all worked out but a new shank because my hitch was now lower than what it was, I probably didnt need a new one because after all the measuring etc,, ( Have to go to a parking lot as I live in dirt) to make it level, worked out fine.

Still good thanks

by:

My initial review of the hitch’s quality and finish is impressive. However, I haven’t had the opportunity to hook it up to the trailer yet due to our current snow conditions. That being said, my transfer of my previous receiver looks flawless to this one and should work very well. Going from a Tundra to a Ram 2500, there is a significant height difference. All my measurements in the garage look to be just what I needed. I’m very confident I’ve made the correct purchase!

by:

After shopping around for a hitch ,I was recommended to etrailer by a friend and found exactly the hitch I needed at a much better price than all the other places that I had looked at,even for the same brand and model of hitch !!

The shank was not in stock when I ordered it and I was concerned it wouldn't come in time for my camping trip. I sent an email asking about the delivery date and I received a response the same day letting me know when it would be received from the manufacturer and shipped to me. I did receive it exactly when they said and also got an email letting me know when it shipped. It was a pleasure dealing with etrailer!!

Its a shank, what can I say. It was exactly what I needed and its still towing my trailer perfectly.

by:

Great quality with more room than needed. Nice coat of paint

by:

I ordered this item to help raise the hitch ball about four inches on my 2006 GMC Sierra 1500. The truck sits low normally and my attempt to tow a 4700 LB. trailer only made the back end lower. I was 6 inches too low from being level to tow. To compensate, I installed a Firestone Air lift system to level out the truck bed, giving me 4" of height at 50 psi plus reversing the shank and adjusting the ball height two more inches corrected the problem!
The combination of the two items now gives me a level tow! I recommend both products for any similar mismatches between truck and trailer.

by:

After getting a new truck that sets a little higher I thought I would have to buy a complete new weight distribution hitch. I was able to find just the shank part at etrailer.

by:

The product arrived in great shape in spite of the box having broken down and had been repaired.
The drop hitch looked of excellent quality and I was able to install on my weight distribution hitch easily.
Your website is very informational and easy to navigate.
Overall it was a pleasure doing business with etrailer.
Thank you very much.

Heavy and solid, extremely well built. 100% what I need.

by:

Wow, ordered a very heavy part on Monday afternoon, got it Wed morning. Its perfect! Thank you

by:

Great selection of products and excellent customer service!!!

by:

etrailer customer service is outstanding. I needed a long drop down receiver for my lifted truck and Meghan L talked with me on the phone for about 45 minutes. We did measurements and looked for a while to make my trailer ride level. Meghan was very helpful and the product has been top quality. Thank you for all your help.

  • Hitch Extender For 2-1/2 Inch Hitch For Weight Distribution
Hi Robert, So I know you don't want to, but the only option for a hitch extension for your 2-1/2 inch hitch does reduce the receiver to 2 inches. I hope you're not mad at me, but there unfortunately is no 2-1/2 inch hitch extender that also has a 2-1/2 inch receiver. So if you do change your mind, what you can do is use the extender and a new 2 inch hitch shank: - Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches # C45048 - Curt Welded Weight Distribution Shank # C17123 The...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 7,500 lbs Travel Trailer and a Lifted Truck
Thanks for the pictures! A weight distribution hitch is recommended based off of the tongue weight of your trailer and is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's total weight. 580 lbs seems extremely low for a 7,600 lbs trailer. Usually we would see a tongue weight range of 760 lbs - 1,140 lbs. I am going to recommend two systems based off of your 580 lbs tongue weight and the 10% - 15% range I have suggested. Both systems are capable of backing up and will be compatible with...

  • Drop Shank Recommendation for Fastway Weight Distribution System For Taller Tow Vehicle
Sounds like you are looking for a way to get more drop out of your Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA94-00-1061 that you referenced to allow your trailer to be towed level. If your shank is already using the lowest holes for the head to attach to you'll need a shank that can offer more drop. If you need up to a drop of 6-1/8 inches you would want the part # 17120 (based on what you listed this should be correct), or if you needed more drop part # C17123 which can do up to 12-3/4 inches.

This weight distribution system has a tongue weight between 1,200 pounds to 1,600 pounds and has a gross towing weight up to 16,000 pounds. To determine if the shank on Curt TruTrack # C17501 will provide you with enough drop on your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 you will need to take a couple measurements. Ensuring your Ram and trailer are on level ground, measure from the top of the receiver on your Ram to the ground. Then measure from the bottom of your trailer's coupler to the ground. All other things being equal, yes, it is better to use a weight distribution head assembly and shank from the same manufacturer. If parts from different manufacturers are mixed there could potentially be fit issues due to things like different machining tolerances or to the thickness of a powder-coat finish.
