what size thread is the mounting for the ball hitch to the vehical body/

If you are looking at the balls that come in the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900, ball # 19247, is coarse threaded and has a 1-1/2 inch nut and lock washer included. Ball # 19260 is also coarse threaded and it also comes with a nut and lock washer.

The shank diameter on each of these balls is 1 inch which is what the included ball mounts in # 989900 accept.
