Question:

I am in search of a brake controller and would like a recommendation . I have a 2015 Dodge Ram truck and I am pulling a camper that weighs about 6200 lbs fully loaded. Looking for a controller that will apply breaks to camper at the same rate being applied to truck. Thanks.

For your 2015 Ram 1500, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller, so it will apply the brakes on your trailer at the same time you apply the brakes in your truck and with the same intensity. This controller has a very easy to read and understand LCD screen that takes code deciphering out of the equation. It will run constant diagnostics to give you accurate information when you need it. It is adjustable to your driving preferences and has 3 levels of boost.

You can very easily connect this controller to the quick connect in your truck cab by using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3024-P.
