Does a Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller Need to be Removed when Not In Use
Updated 04/02/2024 | Published 06/15/2016 >
Question:
I just recieved my #TK90160 today. Installation could not have been easier. My question is , Im only going to actually use the controller 3 or 4 times a year. Should I leave it powered up all the time , or just plug it in when its going to be used? Whats your advice? Thank You. I am a newcomer to your sight , will certainly be back. Good products and advice!

As long as it's not in the way for your daily vehicle use you will be just fine to leave your Primus IQ brake controller part # TK90160 installed all the time as that is what nearly everyone does with their controllers.
Now if the controller is getting in the way and you are banging your leg on it or you just don't like it sitting there you could easily unplug it and store it till you need it.

My Primus IQ was on and would activate when apply brake in vehicle even when RV was not hooked up now Ive noticed that its not doing that. It looks like there is a dot in red on but otherwise nothing. Is this normal. Im worried it quit working and camping season is close. Thanks
