Question:
Looking for a inexpensive brake controller for a 2018 ram 1500 4x4 and lone star edition and wanting if it has to be wired or a plug and play. Please advise me on this. Thanks

Hello Johnny.
I am going to give you 2 options for your 2018 Ram 4x4.
First option is our most cost effective proportional brake controller, the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional # TK37ER. This part number comes with both brake controller and the vehicle specific pigtail which makes the install a whole lot easier. I like this brake controller because it is proportional so it works in sync when you apply the brakes in your 2018 Ram 1500 4x4.
Second option is going to be our most cost effective time delayed brake controller, the Curt Venturer NEXT Trailer Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness - 1-3 Axles - Time Delayed # C43SV. This part number is also going to include both brake controller and the vehicle specific pigtail. Since this brake controller is time delayed it is still going to get the job done, but with a little bit of a delay which is why I prefer the proportional option.
Both of these brake controllers are going to work with 1-3 axles, and they both come with a limited lifetime warranty. The Tekonsha Primus is a little more than the Curt Venturer because it is proportional and not time delayed. Both are a great option and will get the job done.

Hey Johnny, how did things go with the brake controller for your Ram 1500? Did the plug-and-play harness make the setup as easy as expected? Your update could make it easier for others choosing between the Tekonsha and Curt options.
