Does the PAL5500 fit on a 2014 Tacoma the same way that PAL5400 does? Why is the 5400 more expensive that the 5500? Thanks for your help guys.

Both of the Pop & Lock manual tailgate locks that you referenced, # PAL5500 and # PAL5400, are confirmed to fit your 2014 Toyota Tacoma's OEM tailgate. The difference between them is that part # PAL5400 is equipped with a lock cylinder that can be coded to match your ignition key, thanks to it including the patented BOLT coding technology.
