Question:

for the 2016 pilot if I have the lower trim- rear chrome bumper which hitch will work?

I pulled up pictures of the 2016 Honda Pilot with the chrome lower section and the rear fascia does not extend any lower than the already really low rear fascia of the 2016 Pilot so a hitch like the etrailer Trailer Hitch part # e98840 would fit and work well. In an absolute worst case scenario there would be some minor trimming required to get the hitch to fit. But if you check out the install instructions for the etrailer hitch that I attached it shows this hitch installed on a few different rear fascia setup and the hitch clears just fine.

If you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

For trailer wiring you would then want the # 118286.
