good morning I have a 2016 Honda Pilot and want to install a hitch for a bike rack. What do you recommend?

The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2016 Pilot is the etrailer Trailer Hitch, part # e98840. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2-inch receiver opening.
When you are considering any accessory to put in the hitch you will want to be aware of the clearance at the back of the vehicle. I have attached a link to an installation video for this hitch on a 2016 Pilot you can check out. The distance form the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the rear bumper is 3-inches. You will want about 4 inches or more clearance when using a bike carrier in the hitch.
If you do not have a bike carrier yet I recommend a platform-style carrier. These are the easiest to load and unload. One of the bike carriers I recommend is the Kuat Transfer, part # KU74FR. This rack can be tilted away from the vehicle even with the bikes loaded for rear cargo access. The ratcheting hooks on the masts hold the bikes firmly in place by the wheel so there is no frame contact.
