Installing Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55593 on 2009 Mazda CX-7

Updated 07/14/2015 | Published 07/11/2015

Question:

Purchased a Curt C55593 connector for my 2009 Mazda CX-7. When the product arrived, the control box itself didnt have a label, and the basic instruction sheet didnt reference the inline fused red wire that is connected to the short black wire going from the plug into the box. I watched the video on your website of the installation, but it didnt reference the fused red/black wire either. So I installed it exactly as shown. But I have no power to the 4-pole trailer connector. Do I need to separate those red/black wires, ground the black and extend the red wire and inline fuse up to the battery?...or do I need another connector altogether? Thanks!

I want to start by thanking you for your recent purchase. We truly appreciate your business.

As for the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, # C55593, this is the correct wiring harness for your 2009 Mazda CX-7. To install you would simply locate the factory tow harness plug and plug in the T-Connector harness. Next, insert the fuse provided into the inline fuse holder to complete the install. No splicing or extending wires is needed, this harness strictly plugs in.

If you still have no power to the 4-way connector, please send me an email and we can continue the troubleshooting process.
