Question:

I have a 1997 geo tracker 4x4 2door if I purchase pn# 118-8 what tow bars fit that base plate. Is the 118-8 hard to install on the tracker.

For Roadmaster base plates # 118-8 for your 2-door 1997 Geo Tracker you can use any Roadmaster tow bar.

The most popular tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. But if you were looking for something a little more cost effective you could use the Tracker tow bar to tow your Tracker, # RM-020. You will also need safety cables, # RM-643.

Next you will need lighting. I recommend going with a magnetic kit like # RM-2120 This kit will bypass the vehicle wiring.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system # RM-9400. It will apply the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the easiest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
