Thank you for getting my order shipped in a timely manner and ON TIME. A lot of businesses say they'll send something in a certain time but a lot don't. You did and I appreciate it.

I was too cheap to replace the entire axle assembly when my bearings failed and ruined the spindle. Welding in this new spindle saved me some cash and the trailer is as good as new. Ordered a new hub assembly along with this spindle and everything went together perfectly.

  • Are #84 Spindles Threaded into the Axle?
No, they're welded. You assumed correctly. The spindles listed below that I referenced in your previous question all have to be welded on. There are no thread on spindles. #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 2" Diameter item # TRU24FR #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 1-3/4" Diameter item # TRU84FR Square #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 1-1/2" Wide item # TRU47FR

  • Replacement Hub and Bearings for a 3.5K Axle On a Trail Star Boat Trailer
Chris, so to start with your questions, you can use the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-K as a replacement hub and drum assembly, and the #84 Spindle for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # TRU24FR to replace your spindle, but we unfortunately do not have a replacement free backing kit. But, we do have replacement bearings # L68149 & # L44649, along with the triple lip seal # DX49CR should you need those as well.

We offer 3 spindles that have the dimensions compatible with the Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly, part # 84545UC1-EZ. The first is part # TRU74FR. This is a 1.75 inch round EZ-Lube spindle with a grease fitting and a brake flange. This spindle has an overall length of 9 inches. The next is part # TRU64FR. This is a 1.75 round spindle that does not have the brake flange or grease zerk fitting. This spindle has an overall length of 8-1/4 inches. The third is part # TRU24FR. This is a 2 inch...

Unfortunately we do not have any hubs that use those bearing numbers. Your options would be to remove your old spindle and install a new spindle such as # TRU24FR with compatible hub and drum such as # 84546UC3. You could also replace your entire axle with one such as # 35545E-ST-89, which is rated for 3,500 lbs and has electric brakes. In order to determine the correct axle you would need to measure from hub face to hub face and spring center to spring center like in the accompanying photo....

  • Replacement 5 On 5 Idler Hub For Homemade Trailer
I have a couple options for your consideration as we do not have a replacement hub or bolt on spindle that will fit your combination. First you can remove your spindle brackets and have new #84 Spindles # TRU24FR welded in place of the current spindles. This would move you to the most common spindle size and allow you to use the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-550-35-K. This will come preloaded with the new bearings, races and grease seal installed and greased. The second option...

To replace your brakes and hubs you'll need the Kodiak Stainless Steel Brake Kit # K2R35S with hubs # KH84545S. You'll also need the bearing kit # BK2-100 that I mentioned earlier.

Based on the measurements you provided of your outer bearing you have the # LM11949 which is kind of an odd-ball bearing, and as such there are no hubs that we offer that use the # L44649 and # LM11949 bearing combination. A #84 spindle is the standard 3,500 lb axle spindle. It uses an inner bearing L68149 (1.378" inner diameter), and an outer bearing L44649 (1.063" inner diameter). These days this is basically universal for 3,500 lb axles. What you have with your 25580 outer and LM67048 Inner bearings is either a 5,200 lb or 6,000 lb axle. The 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern and the 3" round tube also indicate a 5.2K or 6K axle. With your axle and bearing combination, there are not any hubs with a 5 on 5-1/2"...
