This roof vent moves 900 CFM of air with a 12-volt, 10-speed fan that can pull hot air out or draw fresh air in. Auto mode uses the built-in thermostat to switch the fan on and off as needed, keeping the temperature steady without wasting power. When the vent is closed, the fan runs in ceiling-fan mode to circulate air inside and prevent the space from getting stuffy.
A built-in rain shield keeps water out even when the vent is open, so you can run the fan during rain without worrying about leaks. The smoke-tinted dome is made of high-density polyethylene and gives a smooth, low-profile look when closed. There’s no need to add a separate vent cover—the shield and dome already protect the opening.
Operate the vent from the remote’s LCD screen or the flush-mounted keypad on the unit. You can open or close the dome, change fan direction, adjust speed, and set temperature right from where you are. The remote stores in a wall cradle and includes 2 AAA batteries. If power ever goes out, a manual knob underneath lets you open or close the dome by hand.
Two powered lifting arms raise and lower the dome automatically, so there’s no hand-cranking. The twin-arm design keeps the cover stable in high winds or while driving. The motor is fuse-protected and sealed against dust and moisture for long-term reliability.
The vent fits a 14" x 14" roof opening and works with roof thicknesses from 1-1/8" to 6-1/2". A white interior garnish, insulated connectors, and hardware are included. The mounting flange has a rubber weather seal to prevent leaks once secured with roof sealant (sold separately). When closed, the vent sits 5" above the roof and 9-5/16" when open, giving a solid, weather-tight finish.

This might be one of my favorite upgrade stories yet. Sounds like the Friday Night Fajita Fart Fighter finally met its match Chris! I really appreciate how you broke down the real-world benefits, especially the rain-ready shroud, thermostat control, and being able to leave it open while traveling. That airflow flexibility and the ability to create a cross-breeze is exactly what makes this fan such a standout upgrade. Also, great callout on the wall switch and remote. Still going strong. I can’t say enough positive things about this fan. It’s hard to imagine life without it. The air flow created by using this fan with a cracked window is impressive, and that’s without placing it on the highest setting, something I rarely do unless it’s to cool things off while away.

Ventfan still working great. Batteries on remote need replaced every couple months, but otherwise, we really like the ventfan.
