Question:

Has this Maxxair issue w lithium batteries problem been solved? Looking at replacing a fan in our shuttle that has lithium batteries & if it’s not been solved what other fan should we install or is there a work around?

Yes, it has! The current MaxxFan roof vents like item # MA00-06401K can be used with lithium batteries. There was an issue with the older models of the MaxxFans but they went to a different circuit board that can handle the higher voltage for this exact reason.

I'm about to add two fans to my camper trailer. One specifically for a small bathroom with shower and one over the main living area. I will be using a LiPo house battery system for DC needs. 1) Would the MA00-03851 be suitable for a bathroom with shower and does it have a newer circuit board to address the known LiPo voltage issue? 2) I read from your prior reply the MA00-06401K has the newer circuit board intended to address the LiPo battery voltage issue. I also read in the product description: "Note: Not for use above tubs, showers, or range cooking surfaces." I do not plan to use this specific fan over the galley or in the bathroom, but I was curious why this model has the shower/galley disclaimer while the other model I noted in question 1 does not. 3) Do any of the 10-speed reversible models have the updated circuit board to accommodate LiPo voltages? Thanks for the questions. 1) The MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan item # MA00-03851 can be used with lithium battery set ups like yours. 2) The additional moisture from being in close proximity to showers/tubs and a cooking range can damage the internal components of the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan item # MA00-06401K. 3) The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat item # MA00-06200K has the control board that is compatible with lithium batteries. What kind of camper do you have?

@JerredH Thanks for the quick reply! I'm having an enclosed cargo trailer built to spec over the coming 6 weeks that I will build out as a camper. Would MA00-03851 be suitable for a bathroom with shower? If yes, do you know why this model would be suitable for a shower and MA00-06401K would not? In terms of MA00-06200K, I read multiple reviews indicating this unit does not cooperate with LiPo voltage. Are you saying that specific unit you have for sale are newer versions with the updated circuit boards that can accommodate LiPo? Thanks for clarifying. --Matt

@Matt You're welcome! The MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent # MA00-03851 is designed to be used in a bathroom and it has a rain cover so you can leave it opened all the time. It has different internal electronics than the item # MA00-06401K. Our information states that the MaxxFan item # MA00-06200K will work with lithium set ups like yours because it comes with the Printed Circuit Board for MaxxAir Manual Lift RV Roof Vents item # MA10A21276K. This board is compatible with lithium batteries that have higher voltage.
